Open Payments is a federal transparency program run by CMS under the Physician Payments Sunshine Act. Drug and medical-device manufacturers (and group purchasing organizations) must report payments and transfers of value they make to physicians and other covered clinicians — consulting fees, speaking fees, meals, travel, royalties, research funding and ownership interests. CMS publishes the data every year at openpaymentsdata.cms.gov.
